FAQsQ: "I have to register on t'internet right? What if I haven't got a username and password for my university?" A: If you still don't have a username or password please contact us here to request an account. Q: "Can I see some identification?" A: "[small wave of hand] You don't need to see his identification. These aren't the droids you're looking for" But yes, you will need to bring some identification (Acceptable forms of ID are photographic driving licence, passport or proof of age card bearing the PASS logo. Not accepted: University ID cards/NUS cards). This will need to be shown before you get your wristband sealed, and your wristband will be needed to get into the campsite and marquees. Q: "When and where is it?" A: The 2009 National Student Rodeo will be held at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham, from the 6th - 8th of March, 2009 Q:"What is it?" A: We believe the NSR is the biggest freestyle kayaking event in the world, the biggest student kayaking event in the UK and the best paddling party anywhere! Q:"What if the course isn't finished or is flooded?" A: We've been assured that it is on target to finish work to the course a week before the NSR, but just in case. This year’s rodeo is taking on more of a festival feel, and loads of what we’ve got going on doesn’t rely on the course running. As well as all of the coaching clinics and some informal jam sessions which will happen at revised locations, we’ve organised a shed load of alternative kayaking and non kayaking competitions, so all of the prizes will still be up for grabs. In short, come along regardless, the party will be rockin’, the free stuff will be here in abundance, and it’ll still be the biggest student based kayaking weekend of the year. Q: "Are you my father?" A: Ask your mother. Alternatively Google and other popular search engines can provide you with a large range of unreliable ancestory records. Q: "I'm still in skool, but i wanna compete, can I cum to the rodeo?" A: Once you have learnt basic grammar, and attended an institute of Higher Education you too will be eligible to enter NSR. The NSR is open to Higher Education Students only (i.e. University Students - over 18s). May the force be with you. Q: "I am crap at paddling, can I compete anyway?" A: "Of course you can!! There are novice, intermediate and expert categories, designed to allow newbies to compete against each other and win cool prizes. However for safety reason all paddlers must be of BCU 3* standard and comply to HPP Course Code of Practice. It is up the each University to ensure that their entrants are of adequate ability." Q: "Is there an open competition?" A: There might be, subject to interest. Q: "Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?" A: Mind your own business. Q: "Am I going to be sick from the water at HPP?" A: You will probably feel very sick after the weekend, but that will have more to do with the alcohol you consume rather than the water. If you swim, close your mouth. Q: "Who do I make cheques payable to?" A: Cheques should be made payable to LUU. Firstly, complete online registration adding all the competitors you would like to bring. You can add or delete paddlers up until the closing deadline. Once you've finalised your entries click on the money tab. The address for the rodeo treasurer is here, together with your final total. Q: "Who is your favourite Star Wars character?" A: Jar Jar Binks
